The Seattle Times reported Frontier Financial's quarterly losses of $33.9 million in their January 29, 2010 issue. Shrinking capital ratios have also left the bank significantly undercapitalized. Frontier's shareholders also approved the issuance of up to 200 million shares last week, which could help with any recapitalization deal.
